SABCOHA members have been urged to participate in a World AIDS Day Campaign that aims to have one million people tested for HIV before 1 December. Linda Moore from Business Development Consultant and Brad Mears, the SABCOHA CEO, met on 6 October 2008 regarding the campaign. The project is called the Be Smart ... Check Your Status Campaign for World AIDS Day, 1 December 2008. The objective is to have one million people in South Africa tested for HIV between 24 November and 1 December. GlobalEmed SA has partnered with a corporate sponsor to supply one million test kits that need to be distributed to various corporate organisations, the government and NGOs, free of charge. The HIV rapid test kits will be individually packaged and a free cellphone starter pack will be included for those people who are tested. SABCOHA members interested in participating in this project will have their company logos printed on the back of the packaging of the HIV test, as one of the supporting organisations of this campaign. Moore requires a written confirmation whereby you state your interest in participating in the campaign and the number of tests you want to order, including the delivery points. This is imperative and needs to be treated as a matter of urgency for manufacturing and logistical purposes. For further information, please contact Linda Moore on 079 313 2329. |
