SABCOHA is pleased to announce that the two winners of the "Implementation of SANS 16001" competition that was run earlier this year have now completed their free courses.
Jill Cawse of Jill Cawse & Associates, a Port Elizabeth-based operation providing training and other services for HIV/AIDS workplace programmes, won the place on the 5-day ‘SANS 16001 Auditors Course' while Joy Beckett qualified and won the place on the 3-day ‘Implementation of SANS 16001 in the Workplace Course'.
The "Implementation of SANS 16001" competition was aimed at organisations that wish to implement SANS 16001 and align their HIV workplace programme to SANS 16001. The SANS 16001 auditor training competition was aimed at HIV & AIDS service providers (consultants) who wish to audit their clients against SANS 16001. Said SABCOHA CEO Brad Mears: "This is part of SABCOHA's effort to engage businesses large and small to implement the Standard to ensure that we're involved in the continuous process of improvement with regard to workplace programmes." The standard, which can be bought from the SABS (see details below) or from their website is based on the SANS 9001/ISO 9001 and SANS 14000/ISO 14000 series of management standards.
At the launch SABCOHA CEO Brad Mears said the new private sector strategy developed within NEDLAC called for, among other things, stronger monitoring and evaluation. "The implementation of the standard leads the way in ensuring that perhaps one of the most critical components of the National Strategic Plan is strengthened - namely monitoring and evaluation.
