SABCOHA invites applications for the position of National BizAIDS Manager. BizAIDS is a project to help small medium and micro enterprises deal with the impact of HIV/AIDS by means of valuable business skills training.

BizAIDS runs workshops for very small businesses in both rural and urban areas and helps very small business owners and their families assess their business, health and legal risks and take action to minimise these risks.

Job Objective

  • Manage the national delivery of BIZAIDS training to very small businesses to ensure that micro business owners are better able to plan and act in the face of a range of risks, including HIV/AIDS.
  • Monitor and evaluate the BizAIDS programme delivery and report back to funders, partners and other interested parties. 

Job Purpose

  • Perform a variety of programme management and co-ordinating type functions by:
  • Overseeing BizAIDS programme implementation;
  • Identifying participating business association, local partners, business development organizations, and independent business trainers;
  • Researching and developing appropriate materials methodologies, media and other local resources; Monitoring and evaluating the BizAids training of small business;
  • Coordinating local consulting services with partner organizations and other local consultants;
  • Monitoring, evaluating, reporting and promoting the programme results and lessons learned; and
  • Coordinating review of projects, as well as preparing reports or position papers.

Report to

SABCOHA Operations Manager.

Qualifications

Minimum: Degree or Diploma and or no less that five years experience in either human Resources/Training or business management.

Experience

  • Planning and implementing projects including co-ordinating the development of project scope, goals, work plans, timelines, implementation strategies.
  • Measurement processes/methods of assessing progress toward goals and project outcomes.
  • Developing and monitoring contracts.
  • 2-3 years in implementation of HIV/AIDS workplace programmes.

Generic Competencies

Skills: 

  • Computer literacy – design and use of database, word processing, MS Excel for budget development and analysis of data;
  • Reporting writing skills;
  • Proficient in English – written and verbal;
  • Presentation and public speaking skills; and
  • Strong organization and administrative skills.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the processes of adult learning and the ability to successfully communicate new information so that change in behavior is brought about;
  • Management theory and principles is applied in human service organizations;
  • Understanding of legislation surrounding small business, employment and skills development, customary marriages, estate planning;
  • Understanding of impacts of HIV/AIDS on macro and micro level;
  • Behavioral survey methodologies (design, test, implement, monitor and evaluate, feedback);
  • Programme and budget development and monitoring;
  • Understanding of SABCOHA’s objectives, goals and strategies; and
  • Must be willing to travel within South Africa.
