Western Cape Conference lays the foundation for Business Sector Strategy on HIV/AIDS and WellnessSABCOHA is in the process of establishing functional structures in each province as a more sustainable approach to strengthening the business sector's contribution to the goals contained in the NSP. These provincial structures will build on the lessons that have been learned from national programmes, establish partnerships with Provincial AIDS Councils and local businesses, and empower companies - large and small - through implementing specific initiatives and sharing information and data. The business sector in the Western Cape is the second to formalise a provincial structure, following on the Northern Cape in 2009. One of the key steps towards developing a provincial strategy is the Business Sector Conference which was held in Stellenbosch in May and which was attended by a broad representation from business, members of civil society and local Government authorities. To give full effect to the strategic intent of the Western Cape Business Sector, a Board of Governors was also elected at the Conference.Read the full conference report … (PDF file)
