The latest expansion of the project is in the form of the eSimphiwe Thokomala Transitional Home for Abandoned Babies. The aim of this home is quite different from the other community-based homes Unilever have established as it aims for the successful adoption of the babies that are brought to its doors. The house is situated in Umhlanga, Durban and takes care of six abandoned babies at a time. Unilever funds the baby cots and employees also volunteer their time and assist with the daily duties of the home. This house was also established in association with The Durban Children's Society and has a 'open house' policy, welcoming both local and international visitors.
