Ledile* and her partner run a small information technology firm that provides essential IT services in the rural areas of South Africa, including the Eastern Cape and North West.

Ledile attended the BizAIDS training to grow her knowledge about competitive advantages and business management techniques. Although her firm employs only five people – Ledile, her partner and three IT trainers – she is aware of potential risks to her business and believes in being prepared to tackle them.

While her company has not yet implemented HIV/AIDS training for its employees, Ledile works hard to grow the business and realises that soon there will come a day when, with a bigger staff complement, she will need to provide a workplace HIV/AIDS intervention.

Another consideration on her mind is possible competition from the government, which might also gear itself up to provide a similar service to her customer base across rural schools.

Ledile works hard to mitigate these risks timeously and to ensure that her small company continues to provide an efficient and cost-effective service to its customers.
