She has 21 years of work experience, in the public and private sectors. She began her career working in sustainable development, specialising in community development. In the public sector she focused on the mental health and social development sectors in municipal and national government institutions.

In the private sector she has gained experience in various areas of human resources. She has served on internal organisational management committees and industry-related forums.

She has a Doctorate in social work from the University of Pretoria, a Masters in clinical social work from New York University, an advanced diploma in social work from the University of Cape Town and a Bachelor of Social Science from the University of Bophuthatswana. She also completed a management programme in leadership oil, energy petroleum at the University of the Witwatersrand.

Jantjie is passionate about empowering women and children and volunteers her time and talent in various roles outside of her formal place of employment. She has written articles and presented papers both nationally and internationally.
