SABCOHA has the support and funding of a number of organisations (as listed below),  however, the organisation seeks to raise further funding to continue its work in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

Local business have come on board either as members or Sponsors which allow SABCOHA to realise new projects and programmes that will impact on businesses' answer to addressing the pandemic.

FUNDERS INCLUDE:

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

cdc_logo.gifSABCOHA received funding for $8,5-million in 2007 from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to strengthen SMME workplace HIV responses. The funding - $1,7-million per year for the next five years - will give a massive boost to SABCOHA's SMME-related programmes. The rollout of the CDC programme has required significant organisational focus, but is proving to be a highly worthwhile experience. Not only has SABCOHA been able to move towards achieving its vision of empowering business, but the ability to provide capacity-building programmes has resulted in a significant increase in membership among small- and medium-size companies.

Gauteng department of health

gpg-health-logo-2.jpgSABCOHA has received a grant from the Gauteng department of health to train 440 micro enterprise owners in the Tshwane, Ekurhuleni and Metsweding areas under the BizAIDS umbrella project. The coalition is contacting the HIV/AIDS co-ordinators in these municipalities to introduce BizAIDS to them. The project runs from 1 April 2008 to 31 March 2009. BizAIDS is a tool to help very small and micro enterprises owners prepare for HIV/AIDS and related emergencies. Click here for more information on the project.

The UK Department for International Development (DFID)

dfid-logo.jpgSince the relationship began in 2003, SABCOHA and DFID have continued to strengthen their partnership. With the nearing of the end of the funding period (July 2007), SABCOHA received a no-cost extension until February 2008. The coalition has continued to maintain a relationship with DFID.

Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA)

jica-logo-2.jpgBeginning in 2007, SABCOHA partnered with the Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA) - then the Japan Bank for International Co-operation (JBIC) - to conduct an HIV/AIDS capacity building programme to tackle falling productivity and rising costs resulting from absenteeism and deaths in the automotive and mining sectors.
